Welcome to MyCaseJournal™. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the MyCaseJournal website, application, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Important Notice: MyCaseJournal is a documentation and organization tool. It does NOT provide legal, medical, or professional advice. The use of MyCaseJournal does not create an attorney-client, doctor-patient, or any other professional relationship. Always consult qualified professionals for advice specific to your situation.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MyCaseJournal, you confirm that you:

2. Description of Service

MyCaseJournal provides a private, local-first platform designed to help users:

Organize medical records and documentation
Log daily care activities and observations
Track appointments, milestones, and expenses
Prepare documentation for legal and medical professionals

            Local-First Design: Your sensitive data is stored primarily on your device. We do not have
            access to your medical records, journal entries, or case documentation unless you explicitly choose to share
            or sync this information.
        

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain and update your account information
Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
Accept responsibility for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose
Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
Interfere with or disrupt the Service

5. Your Data and Content

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or store using MyCaseJournal. We do not claim any ownership rights over your data.

5.2 Data Responsibility

Because MyCaseJournal uses local-first architecture:

You are responsible for backing up your data
We are not responsible for data loss due to device failure, theft, or user error
You should maintain multiple backups of critical information

5.3 Data Export

You may export your data at any time in standard formats for portability and backup purposes.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Our Trademarks

MyCaseJournal™, the MyCaseJournal logo, and all related names, logos, and designs are trademarks of MyCaseJournal. You may not use these marks without prior written permission.

6.2 License to Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
Warranties regarding the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through the Service
Warranties that documentation created will be legally admissible or sufficient for any legal proceeding

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

MyCaseJournal shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim
We are not liable for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
We are not liable for decisions made based on information in the Service

MyCaseJournal is a documentation tool only. It is not intended to and does not:

Provide legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship
Provide medical advice or create a doctor-patient relationship
Replace consultation with qualified legal or medical professionals
Guarantee any particular outcome in legal or medical matters

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless MyCaseJournal, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of:
